Managing in the Middle of the Muddle: Getting Things Done when You’re not the One in Charge Transition Work

ID : 1186

« back to classes page
ClassGraphic The “muddle” is when you find yourself trapped between conflicting and often-competing expectations and demands. It’s when you know what is needed, but you lack the formal authority or resources to make it happen. It’s when what people say is contradicted by
what they do. Muddles happen when mixed messages from others leave you confused about what is really going on. We will look for ways to work through the frustrations and ambiguities that are common in today’s complex organizations. Explore “when” to take more initiative, “where” you might have greater impact, and “how” to acquire more influence.
